25+ Years of Healthcare Education Experience
Prime Medic builds upon more than 25 years of healthcare education experience brought by its President, Nicholas Searle, who since 2000 has contributed to the development of innovative programs spanning scientific and medical animation, medical writing, clinical education, patient education, and outcomes research.
His experience includes programs developed through Prime Medic Inc., Mechanisms in Medicine Inc., and Core Health Services Inc., working with expert faculty and healthcare education organizations to translate complex medical science into engaging and accessible educational experiences.
Today, Prime Medic is building on this foundation with a renewed focus on evidence-based healthcare professional education and continuing medical education.
A Foundation in Animated Healthcare Education
Prime Medic has a history of developing comprehensive animated healthcare education programs in collaboration with leading accredited medical education organizations, expert faculty, and other healthcare partners.
This experience includes collaborations with the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower and the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) on educational initiatives integrating scientific animation, expert faculty video, interactive learning, patient education, and outcomes measurement.
Programs have addressed therapeutic areas including diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and other areas of medicine.
You and Parkinson's — An Animated Patient's Guide to Parkinson's Disease
You and Parkinson's demonstrates Prime Medic's experience developing comprehensive, visually driven healthcare education around a complex neurological disease.
The program integrated scientific animation with structured learning modules addressing disease understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and management, creating an accessible educational journey from disease science through clinical management.
Extending Healthcare Education Across Languages and Audiences
Prime Medic's experience includes the development of multilingual healthcare education designed to extend access to medical information across diverse audiences.
The Spanish-language Usted y Parkinson program integrated scientific animation, expert faculty video, educational presentations, and structured learning resources to provide accessible Parkinson's disease education for Spanish-speaking audiences.
The program developed a substantial digital audience, with its dedicated YouTube channel generating more than 1.2 million combined video views across 24 educational videos and attracting more than 7,000 subscribers.
Measuring the Impact of Visual Healthcare Education
Nicholas Searle's healthcare education experience includes outcomes research examining the reach and educational impact of animated healthcare education.
In a peer-reviewed study published in Pancreas in 2022, Searle and colleagues evaluated seven years of utilization and outcomes data from the Animated Pancreas Patient educational program. The broader program generated more than 4.5 million views worldwide, reaching approximately 2.76 million unique participants across 161 countries.
Among participants providing feedback on the pancreatic cancer education, 91% reported learning new information, 85% learned about new treatment options, 82% learned about new surgical options, and 94% reported a commitment to change, including using the information to better manage their condition and engaging with their physician.
